At this year’s Pork Congress, Grand Valley Fortifiers was pleased to offer a generous draw for a very worthy cause.   Each of the two days a draw was made for $1000.00 to be provided directly to a College or University for tuition payment of the son or daughter of the winner.  In the case of a young family, the payment was to be made to a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for future use for tuition once the child(ren) were of post secondary school age.  As a nutrition technology company, we at Grand Valley Fortifiers support the education and development of young minds that will allow companies like ourselves to remain innovative and leading edge in our respective industries in the future.  We are very honoured to be able to play a small role in this as
we help support the tuition costs of a couple Ontario families this year. 

We are pleased to announce that Sara Gilliard of Forest, Ontario was the recipient of one of these prizes.  Sara is a Grade 10 student at North Lampton Secondary
School and currently works diligently at a local Pizza Shop in town, saving her wages for future tuition costs.  Sara plans to attend Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in pursuit of her Bachelor of Arts degree in order to become a High School Teacher.  Sara also enjoys soccer.  Sara’s family, the Garry Gilliard Family are proud Ontario Pork Producers, cash croppers and an NK dealer.  Grand Valley Fortifiers is honoured to be a supplier of vitamin mineral premixes to this successful family over the years.

It was our pleasure to also present a $1000 cheque to the Adrian and Jackie Rombouts Family of Watford. Ontario.  Adrian and Jackie are the proud parents of Carter (6), Jordan (5) and A.J (10 months).  It is Adrian and Jackie’s belief that a post secondary education is extremely important and therefore they have already set up a RESP in each of the children’s names.  It is their hope that each of their children will attend a post secondary school of their choosing.  In their words, “The one thousand dollar cheque received from Grand Valley Fortifiers will go a long way in making that dream come true”. 

Congratulations to the recipients of these cheques.  We trust whether the funding is utilized next year or many years down the road, it will provide significant support to the achievement of the educational goals of Ontario Pork Producers.
