GRAND VALLEY FORTIFIERS TAKES STEPS TO ENSURE ORDERLY TRANSITION TO THE NEXT GENERATION

At the company’s bi-annual staff townhall meeting held on April 19th Jim Ross, the founding President of Grand Valley Fortifiers officially appointed his son Ian to the position of President and C.E.O. of the family owned business. He believes that after leading Grand Valley Fortifiers for 47 years it was time to begin the transition to the next generation. Jim believes this step is in the best interest of all concerned, customers, employees, suppliers and the Ross Family. The timing of the change will allow for an orderly transition to the next generation. Jim will continue to be involved on a day-to-day basis in the position of Chairman of the Board where he will be a mentor to Ian and the management team, call on customers with the Swine Specialists, and work in product development with the company nutritionists. He also wants to spend more time with his wife Elaine, their 10 grandchildren and his ongoing interests overseas with various mission projects. At the time of this announcement Jim shared that he was very pleased and confident that this decision is the right one for the company at this time. Ian has worked for Grand Valley Fortifiers all through his teen years and over the 15 years since obtaining his honours business degree from Trinity Western University. Jim stated, “I believe he has worked hard and gained the respect of all our staff and our customers. Over these years he has proven himself to be a leader and visionary and I believe that he, along with the other very capable members of our management team will be able to lead our company forward. We will continue to have as our goal the provision of high performance nutritional products and services to enable our customers to prosper in these very challenging days. Our greatest joy and satisfaction come from seeing our customers succeed and this will continue to be our goal.”
